Position Description CNC Machinist 2nd Shift (Mon-Thur 4:15pm-2:45am) CNC machinists work with computer numeric controlled (CNC) heavy machinery from setup to operation to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic or other materials. Computer numeric controlled equipment is precision machinery that cuts, grinds, or drills into the material. CNC machinists make adjustments to the machine to control speed, material feed and path of the cut, as well as make sure the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality product. CNC machinists make sure their machines are working at full capacity, are stocked with needed materials, well-maintained and perform periodic checks on output. They look at the finished product to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in production. Position Description Precision machine shop is looking for CNC machinist to oversee a CNC milling production cell. This production cell produces a family of parts that require a consistently high level of quality. The processes of this production cell begin with raw material and include all of the necessary steps to achieve a precision machined part, free of burrs, masked, grained and packaged for delivery to an anodize vendor. The machinist must be capable of setting up and operating horizontal and vertical machining centers, and running multiple machines simultaneously. The programs and fixturing are designed for long cycle times. While machines are running, the machinist will be required to complete secondary processes such as deburring, inspection, washing, masking, graining, and packaging. Daily machine maintenance is also required. We will provide the CNC machinist with training specifically for this production cell and the family of parts being produced. The CNC machinist will be expected to master all of the tasks associated with this production cell. This is a long-term position.
