Associate Manufacturing Engineer

Summary The AME is responsible for supporting engineering related needs of other internal departments, as well as suppliers. Duties include reading and understanding customers’ requirements and verifying that all manufacturing related processes and documentation comply.   Duties
  • Revision Change Control.
  • Adhere to Collins’ Quality Management System practices.
  • Reviewing manufacturing documentation to verify conformance with customer requirements.
  • Assist other departments by clarifying design intent
  • Document past non-conformances and save the evidence for future reference.
  • Design and draw fixtures, work-holding devises and gages as required.
  • Create working drawings communicate guidelines for suppliers.
  Qualifications
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years minimum experience related to manufacturing in a precision machine shop, preferred.
  Proficiencies
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office software applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong CAD experience using SOLIDWORKS
  • Strong CAM experience using FeatureCAM (or other Autodesk software), preferred.

  • Evaluates engineering drawings, specifications, orders, and related documentation for conformance to established guidelines and initiates requests for changes to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Reviews engineering data and production related documents to qualify manufacturing processes, tooling, and work holding requirements.
  • Create drawings for work holding and gauging solutions to support quality control requirements.
  • Maintains an electronic library of part drawings and associated manufacturing information to ensure conformance to the latest revision level and eliminate non-conforming documentation.
  • Identifies and documents revision changes and distributes information to companywide departments and outside vendors, to promote informed throughput of manufacturing processes.
  • Prepares detailed work instructions for proven manufacturing methods and maintains organized storage of these processes for easy access by others within the organization.

Precision Machining contract manufacturer with over 50 CNC machines, including 3/4/5-axis milling, 2-axis & multi-axis turning, Integrex mill/turn and Swiss turning seeks a Manufacturing Estimator to join their growing team. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Review and interpret customer blueprints and other documentation to prepare estimates, machine throughputs, material cost and subcontract services. • Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services and tracking actual costs relative to quote estimates as manufacturing orders are completed. • Obtain quotes from suppliers for materials, components and special process requirements. • Determine manufacturing steps/processes, equipment requirements, programming requirements, setup operations, material, labor, and other items necessary to perform work. • Work with sales, production and quality departments to obtain information to provide accurate quotes and lead times. • Perform production audits to confirm estimates on repeat orders. OVERALL DUTIES: Precision CNC Manufacturer seeking a 2nd Shift Quality Control Inspector who is strong in mechanical inspection of complex machined parts. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar environment. Must be proficient in reading complex technical drawings, have working knowledge of GD&T concepts and experience utilizing precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gage, surface plate, optical comparator, etc. to measure high-precision machined parts. This is a fast paced and high pressure environment. Must be a self-starter, willing to work overtime and able to work with minimal supervision. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Setup equipment as necessary and inspect machined and fabricated parts and sub-assemblies, plastics, extrusions, bar stock, and others. Conduct dimensional and visual inspection of manufactured parts and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings. QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: - Must have a minimum of five (5) years' experience, strong knowledge of inspection tools, advanced shop mathematics and machine shop practices. - Must have thorough knowledge of geometric tolerancing (GD&T). - Ability to work from blueprints, sketches and verbal instructions. - Strong computer skills. - CMM experience operation desired. - Must be a team player and flexible with work assignments. 2nd Shift Hours: Monday thru Thursday - 4:15pm - 2:45am, Friday Overtime as needed - 2:15pm - 10:45pm Salary commensurate with experience. Precision, contract machining business is looking for an experienced Assembler. Job responsibilities:  Highly repetitive, simple short cycle mechanical assembly following prescribed routing or where method of assembly is obvious.  Work is typically performed at a bench and may include standing or walking. Light painting in a filtered paint booth is also a daily activity. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  •          Removing and installing common hardware and fasteners.
  •          Light painting.
  •          Reading routers, blueprints, and work instructions to identify components and specifications that are necessary for assembly conformance.
  •         Inspection of products before, during and after assembly processes.
  •          Identify and document product defects.
  •         Recording time and quantity for job tracking.
  •          Maintain inventory of product / hardware in workstation.
  •          Maintaining a neat and orderly workspace.
  SKILLS AND CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

The QC Inspector is responsible for inspection of incoming materials, in-process inspections of product and ensures tight tolerance machined parts meet the specifications of the drawings and the parts meet customer's quality standards. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Programming and PCDMIS experience required - Working knowledge of GD&T concepts - Experience utilizing precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, optical comparator, etc. - Follow standardized procedures and instructions for in process and final inspections across a wide variety of customized parts with very close tolerances and specifications. - Maintain records of results and prepare required Quality Control forms. - Ability to analyze and resolve process issues from basic to very complex. - Optimize CMM run-time to ensure daily goals and production targets.
